Why Are Consultations Important?

This question is something you should strongly consider when deciding to start or continue your Loc Journey.

I’ve received phone calls from potential clients inquiring about starting Loc Journeys, but with little to no information as to what’s enstore. They’ve heard about the different ways to start Locs. They don’t necessarily understand the difference between Sisterlocks(TM) and Microlocs. They believe that we can get started tomorrow, or this weekend. They want their Locs to look just like the person/client that referred them.

On the other hand, there’s the potential client that already has Locs, but is in search of a new Loctician. I’ll discuss the reason Locticians are many times hesitant to take “Transfer Clients”, as well as my opinions/decisions at a later time (Promise♥️). Anywho… I’ve encountered “Transfer Clients” that never had a Consultation prior to having their Locs established, and didn’t understand the importance. I’ve given and suggested information that had never been heard, but proved beneficial. I’ve heard complaints about not being educated. I have had to explain reasons for issues throughout the Locking Stages. I have examined Locs that have not been properly maintained.

I could go on, but I would rather explain the importance of a Consultation. You should want your Loctician to explain the Loc process from start to finish. You should want to understand your Loctician’s thought process for sizing, pattern, and practices for your hair type, texture, and density. You and your Loctician should agree with the plan for your Loc Journey (The exact reason I created “SOLO Locs by Riamor”. There must be a mutual trust. I say “mutual” because you will have to trust that the Loctician you selected knows what they’re doing, and the Loctician will need to be able to trust that you will follow directions.

Remember this: The investment is to be protected by both, all the more reason why the Consultation is a MUST👌🏾
